All set in La Spezia for the Cinque Terre Passion Ride: the weekend program between sport and territory

Saturday, May 9 and Sunday, May 10: a weekend featuring social rides with champions, culture, solidarity, and the iconic climbs of the Riviera.

La Spezia is getting ready to host the Cinque Terre Passion Ride 2026. The weekend of May 9–10 promises a full immersion into the magic of Eastern Liguria—a two-day experience where cycling becomes the key to discovering unique landscapes.

The event will officially kick off next Saturday, May 9th, in Piazza Europa, the true heart of the manifestation. From the early morning hours, the village will welcome participants for registration and Goodie Bag collection, transforming the square into a vibrant meeting point for athletes and enthusiasts. The morning will get into full swing with “Bici in Asta” (Bicycle Auction)—an initiative promoted by the City of La Spezia—taking place from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
At 10:30 AM, the day continues with two ways to explore the beauty of the area: on one hand, the Social Ride, a guided pedal in the company of Paolo Bettini and Silvia Parietti through panoramic roads and the scents of the Mediterranean scrub; on the other, a Cultural Walk dedicated to those who wish to discover the historical secrets and landmarks of La Spezia on foot.
From 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, activity participants will be able to enjoy a snack featuring the authentic flavors of the local territory.

Sunday, May 10 will be all about the challenge and breathtaking views. The meeting point is at dawn in Piazza Europa for a group breakfast and final bike checks, ahead of the official start at 8:30 AM. Participants will choose between two routes, aptly named “Pesto” and “Focaccia”—courses designed for different skill levels, guiding cyclists through iconic climbs and dramatic seaside descents. Throughout the day, children can enjoy ‘Gioca con la Mamma’ (Play with Mom), a series of activities dedicated to families and kids promoted by the Municipality of La Spezia, featuring reimagined traditional games and creative workshops. A special moment of togetherness designed to celebrate Mother’s Day in an atmosphere of celebration, inclusion, and fun. The initiative involves local associations and offers experiences tailored for all ages.

From 1:00 PM, the square will come alive again as the first riders return, ready to refuel at the final refreshment area and share their experiences along the Riviera. The event will officially close at 3:30 PM with the awards ceremony and farewell, celebrating an event that once again brings together competition, nature, and community.
